Kalkwasser

Kalkwasser, German for lime water, is a calcium-rich solution made by dissolving calcium hydroxide in water. Kalkwasser is added daily by mixing it with top-off water. Kalkwasser adds calcium directly to the aquarium. The hydroxide reacts with carbon dioxide and raises alkalinity inside the tank. Reef Octopus Kalk Reactors eliminate the difficulties of keeping the undissolved calcium hydroxide separate from the clear, calcium-saturated kalkwasser. The high-torque motor mixes the solution and keeps the powder away from the liquid for easy dosing with an ATO.
