Calcium reactors make it easy to maintain and stabilize calcium and alkalinity levels in your reef aquarium. Here’s how calcium reactors work. The reactor holds your choice of reactor media. A slow stream of aquarium water is pumped through the reactor. Carbon dioxide is injected into the reactor to lower pH and slowly dissolve the media.
